INcareTransTransportation That Cares
For Riders & Families

Getting where you need to go, with dignity and a friendly driver.

We help you or your loved one get to appointments, treatment, work, school, shopping and day programs, and home again, across Indiana, with longer trips from Indiana into Ohio and surrounding states.

What to expect

Your ride, step by step.

Before your ride

We confirm your pickup by phone, email or text. Have your destination address and the time you need to be there ready, and tell us about any wheelchair, walker or other equipment.

At pickup

Please be ready at your pickup time. Your driver comes to your door and helps you to the vehicle.

Wheelchair riders

Your driver uses the lift or ramp and secures your wheelchair before the van moves. Seat belts are worn by everyone.

Caregivers

A caregiver, attendant or family member is welcome to ride along. On private-pay rides, each attendant or additional passenger is $20 per trip (this charge doesn't apply to rides arranged through a broker, health plan, the VA or another program). Riders under 18 must ride with an adult escort (18 or older), who rides free. Riders who need help beyond what our drivers provide should travel with a caregiver.

Getting home

Return trips are planned when you book. If your appointment, shift or program runs long, call us and we'll adjust.

Changing plans

Please cancel at least 24 hours ahead. Private-pay late cancellations may carry a fee that we explain on your quote. Rides arranged through a broker, health plan, the VA or another program follow that program's rules, and we don't charge those riders cancellation, no-show or wait fees.

Medicaid and health plan rides

INcareTrans doesn't bill Medicaid or Medicare directly. If you have Indiana Medicaid, schedule covered rides through your health plan's transportation broker. INcareTrans is one of the providers brokers can assign, so your broker may send your ride to us. Veterans with VA-arranged transportation should book through the VA. Rides arranged through a broker or the VA follow that program's rules, and you don't pay us for them. Questions? Call (317) 528-0018.

Paratransit, county and school rides

If a transit agency, county, school or other program arranges your ride, book through them. Rides arranged by a program follow that program's rules. Anyone else can request a ride from us directly. About our paratransit service.

FAQ

Common questions from riders and families.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Greenwood and serve riders in every Indiana county. We're licensed for NEMT in Indiana and Ohio, and trips run from Indiana into Ohio and surrounding states. We also take trips to Illinois, Kentucky and Michigan, for example to a specialty clinic or an event; those trips are facility-paid or private pay. Call (317) 528-0018 or request a quote.

Do you provide wheelchair transportation?

Yes. We provide wheelchair and ambulatory transportation, door to door, for NEMT, paratransit and everyday trips. Tell us about any equipment or mobility needs when you book.

Do you provide paratransit?

Yes. INcareTrans provides door-to-door and curb-to-curb paratransit and demand-response rides for riders with disabilities and seniors, in wheelchair-accessible and ambulatory vehicles. Trips can be for work, school, shopping, day programs, community activities or medical care. From 2021 to 2025 we provided ADA paratransit as a subcontractor for the Indianapolis-area public transit system. If a transit agency, county or program arranges your ride, book through them; anyone else can request a ride online or call (317) 528-0018.

I have Indiana Medicaid. Can I ride with you?

INcareTrans doesn't bill Medicaid or Medicare directly. If you have Indiana Medicaid, schedule covered rides through your health plan's transportation broker. INcareTrans is one of the providers brokers can assign, so your broker may send your ride to us. Veterans with VA-arranged transportation should book through the VA. Rides arranged through a broker or the VA follow that program's rules, and you don't pay us for them. Questions? Call (317) 528-0018.

How much does a ride cost?

Every trip and contract is different, so apart from the $20 attendant or additional-passenger charge on private-pay rides (a minor's escort rides free), we don't publish ride prices. Request a quote online or call (317) 528-0018 and we'll give you a clear price before you ride.
